Monday August 25, 2008 Ione, Washington (morning)

Sun Aug 24th I had a great ride today but long started at 10 am- OK I was eating bfast at 10am Started up hill 20 miles and 4 hours later I was at the top of Sherman's pass 5575 feet my 4th or 5th pass in 4 days Down the Mt. in less than an hour,that was fun. I only passed 5 dead bike riders on the side of the road today and one guy was looking for his other lung LOL I think someone it playing a terrible trick on me!! I think no one has ever ridden this course and the guy you order these maps from doesn’t tell you that everyone starts this course but no one has ever made it out of Washington!!!! alive!!!! All the locals say hey honey there goes another one !!!

Now for the banjos about 10 pm last night I am looking for a campground ok there is a sign with an arrow Camping / state wildlife refuge with a picture of a duck goose whatever he was he had web feet and a arrow( no not the duck the sign) so I had been on a gradual incline for some time back up to 3000 feet and ready to camp I start down this dirt/gravel road and see a bigger sign CAMP in designated areas only!!!! so I start up this hill and I climb and climb and all I can think about is getting up early and doing some fishing I mean its steep and not good on my bike after 1 mile I am pissed and think ok just around the next turn and it gets steeper and steeper and I am not no way pushing my bike any on this trip it gets so steep I have my wheel in a groove and fall over long story short 4 miles and 1000 foot higher and just around that next bend…… yep!!!!! another freaking hill I turned around and came all the way back down. I am having a Ranger for bfast if I can find one!!!!!!!!

I am writing this Mon am and need to go long today I am at ione WA 95 miles to the Idaho ( no you da ho boarder). breaking camp oh yeah did I mention it is pouring down rain!! Thank God for good Rain gear. I do like ridding in the Rain as long as it's not cold and it seems pretty warm low 60's Gotta ride trying to beat Trigg to Glacier National park in Montana He is flying in just to see ME now that’s a friend oh yeah his brother Dale is also getting married just happed to be when we were planning on meeting funny how plans come together LOL. No Cell reception so not sure when you will receive this Have a Great week OH NO THIS COULD BE A DISASTER I CANT FIND MY SPELL CHECK BUTTON LOL
