75 miles again made it to rockland maine even my waterproof headlight has finally failed down to my cheapy walmart headlamp tire is rubbing on bike but i am almost done!!! will be there today or tomorrow at the very latest will send pictures when i reach bar harbor

75 miles to lewiston maine today pouring rain again i am physically exhausted but still having a good time should be in bar harbor maine by tuesday late still having a great trip extremely tired and ready to be done looks fairly flat from here to bar harbor. camera is shot. bad weather taken toll on all of my equipment.

Friday September 26, 2008: The Hills

A for scenery, F for roads!

BUSTED!

i am in Fairlee vermont 100 miles got an early start started at 6 am just to find out i had to take a ferry across the lake and it didnt leave until 8. vermont gets an A for beauty it gets an A for toughest hill i have faced so far; breadloaf mountain in between east middlebury and rochester. give that to dempsey and google earth it and look at the elevation, its absolutely wicked FFFF grade for roads their roads are the worst i have ever seen tried to get on interstate on a 7 mile stretch i was trying to sneak across got pulled off my a trooper took me back 5 miles where i started so had to ride that 5 mile stretch twice got really wet but didn't get cold tried to ride 70 or 80 miles don't want to set up camp in this rain

i will be in new hampshire about as quick as i get on my bike here in a little while then i'm going into maine. getting closer. ride yesterday was very very hilly but not as bad as the two days before. but it did get the NO 1 hill award but i think i will break it today on a mountain called

cancamagus supposed to be the most wicked hill of them all and then its a pretty easy ride after that!

Thursday September 25, 2008: MOJO Wanted

HOLY JEEPERS, WALLY!!!!!!! Thatns insane i have never seen hills like i've seen the 2 days. 2 miles uphill one mile straight down 2 miles up hill and one mile straight down no flat stretches at all ive never pushed my bike up a hill but i sure thought i was going to fall off and have to push it but in the end, i kicked the hills butt. ticonderoga new york that is where i am. 110 miles. hardest 110 miles i have ever ridden it was crazy. i will be in vermont and new hampshire tomorrow looks like a wet finish storms blowing up from west noreaster on east coast tropical storm coming up from virgina beach weatherman says 110% chance of rain tomorrow so looks like it will be wet but i've had 2 weeks of wonderful weather just looking forward to being done.

also, everybody bottle up your mojo and send it my way. my legs are like jello and they burn going up every hill i havent taken a day off yet and i don't intend to take one off until i get done. so bottle up your mojo and send it my way!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday September 24, 2008: Catching Up on Things

85 miles . old forge new york. i am in the adirondack mountains. hilliest ever ridden. really brutal. kicked my butt an i am only in the foothills! pics: niagara falls on u.s. side. little old man had keys to his daughter's bakery opened it up and kept giving me all kinds of sweets really neat guy the next one is lady mcGiver she helped me fix my bike (mcdonald's manager).

Monday September 22, 2008: Flat Tire

In Albion new york... 65 miles on road for 10 hours between niagara fall, flat tire and trip to bike shop that was all the miles i could muster i was tired so i am going to bed early and try to make a long day of it i am over 3000 miles i think that's about it

Sunday September 21, 2008: Niagara Falls

MISS MACGYVER (manager mcdonalds)

rode to 1 aM made it to niagara fall.s 125 miles would have been here sooner but even my bike is allowed to have a bad day my rack broke that holds my pannier bags (sp?) me and a lady from mcdonalds who is the manager who they call her MISS MACGYVER ,and with my grand pa lindsey's bailing twine skills we got it fixed in about an hour.

i am not receiving any emails. my computer is shutting down constantly. so, if you are sending me emails anyone, i am not getting them will let you know when i get my computer working

going to take some pics with my phone and try to text them of niagara falls on the canadian side and then headed to new york

Saturday September 20, 2008: Canadian Questions

100 miles from imlay to london canada spent hour going thru immigrations. very doubtful of the fact i was riding my bike all the way across the country and coming through canada. :) hope to be in niagara falls tomorrow. will try to send picture. still having problems with the downloads.

85 miles to imlay city michigan. picked up by friend mark wallace and spent night in alganac michigan with mark and patty. great hosts wonderful people had my favorite chinese for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. mark took me back to imlay where he picked me up the day before.
